ABOUT KARMUHILAN

Passion for art is something I was born with. I never received any professional training. Although the ways of the world landed me in a different field, my love for art never faded away. I am Karmuhilan Chellakkannu, a software engineer by profession and art is my passion.

Art makes me feel at peace and it makes me feel alive. Anything that captivates me, seem to touch my soul and I reflect it on my canvas with bright colours. I choose acrylic and charcoal as my medium on canvas to give shape to my inspirations. Though my style is predominantly contemporary and abstract, I am open to experimenting with other styles that appeal to me.

My biggest inspiration is the contemporary artist Santhana Krishnan also known as ‘Door Santhanam’. With my exhibition in Dakshina Chitra in April 2010, I began the journey of realizing my dream, my desire to bring to the world the expressions of my creativity.
